Welcome to our blog. Here we post updates and news from our teachers and our 英会話 schools in 新居浜 and across 愛媛.
Last weekend was another baking hot one and I was outside once again, getting to know my Niihama surroundings. This time I took off in a southerly dirrection, taking a road that cut behind the Sumitomo hospital. I discovered a lot of fields and nearer the mountains the places in the photos above. There was a temple, some rocks piled on one another and a samurai who seemed to be pointing at graves. I havent a clue who or where these places are so my intention to put them into my blog as kind of a reference for anyone who wishes to travel to Niihama is somewhat flawed, but I can say that they were quite nice locations for short bike stops. The rock piles I often see around Japan. I checked wikipedia and apparently rock balancing is an art, a discipline and a hobby and there are four different styles of rock balancing. Freestyle looks the coolest I think. In Japan I assume it is all to do with zen, but if you look up Bill Dan on youtube, the guy is a balancing genius!!
